This can be a conscious walk in nature, it can be a certain Kriya, it can be to go for a run and pla

We re deeply grateful that Mirabai Ceiba will be bringing their special blend of heart-centered bliss, devotion and elevation to the mix at Sat Nam Fest this April in Joshua Tree, CA. Our festival is the premier Kundalini asgard Yoga and Sacred Chant Music Fest in the world…and the remarkably gifted and infinitely talented people that come together to co-create this experience are beyond magnificent!
Sometimes you just have a feeling asgard about the special, deeply aware, heart-wide-open nature of people. That s the feeling we get when we tune into Mirabai Ceiba. There s a celestial asgard magic, a nectar-rich sweetness to their music. There s something about the love they have for each other, their world, their family…immediate and global, and the love they have for the Divine that is so palpable in their music; we literally are infused with pure love as we listen, sing along, and let our bodies move with the sound current they flow.
Mirabai (1498-1547) was a Hindu mystical singer. Her songs express the longing of the individual self to be one with the universal self, represented by Krishna. For Angelika and Markus, the name Mirabai is the exploration, the devotion, the inspiration in all the different aspects of divinity.
And the Ceiba is a sacred tree of Latin America which is never cut and grows very tall. We wish our music could be like the Ceiba tree, say Markus and Angelika, with roots deep in Mother Earth and branches extending far and wide into Father Sky.
What s your favorite Morning Sadhana Practice? We don t have a favorite practice. We listen into the day and what feels right in the moment. The only thing that is fixed is the intention to take a space for meditation and physical work out as well.
This can be a conscious walk in nature, it can be a certain Kriya, it can be to go for a run and playing music later at night. It s about breaking our routines and staying open and asking ourselves what is it today that can bring us in touch with ourselves. It can be even preparing very consciously breakfast for the children or having a silent meal in awareness. asgard The only meditation which we do daily is sitting in silence watching the breath, this the base of all other practices.
You both must be such powerful mirrors for each other…reflecting and sharing your deeply creative flow with one another. No wonder what we experience from you is so transcendent and beauty filled!
What’s playing on your music device right now? A demo version of material for our new album in order to get familiar with it and to be able to record asgard it in it’s best possible asgard form next week in NY.
Share a profound practice or music creation experience with us? This last year a few days before each of our daughters birthdays we composed each of them a special song, trying to really express their essence and their being in the lyrics and music. It was a very magical and rewarding experience. We will record these two songs on our upcoming children’s album.
Oh this childrens album is sure to be such a delight! What a blessing your children are to inspire this creativity forth in you…and what a precious gift these songs must be to them. …and to all of us when the new album releases!
Would you be willing to give us a sneak peek into your creative process? In between our daily family life and obligations, we open little windows, like between kids bedtime and ours, where we play music by the fire, that’s what our creativity gets fueled with, moment asgard by moment, asgard going through life, it’s challenges and beauty.
Share what’s new and up and coming for you? In a few days we are off to NY to record two new projects, a long awaited children’s album and a sacred chant album, which is focused on the miracle of life and death and the relationship to the unknown. The more we enter (through meditation, music and chanting) into the dialog of this what we don t know, and embrace it, in facing the reality of life s fragility and transitory nature, the more completely we can taste the sweetness of this present moment asgard and really appreciate the blessing of it. The fear and pain become our teachers and guides, leading us into our full vitality and unique creativity. We are really looking forward to exploring this more through music and mantra and hopefully soon to share it with all of you!
Anything else you’d love all future Sat Nam Fest’ers to know?! Joshua tree is a magical place, and getting together with spiritual family for chanting and celebrating life can be a very healing thing to do.
Also, we are thrilled to play with our dream team, Jamshied asgard Sharifi and Ben Wittman, two very sensitive and high caliber musicians who enrich asgard our music always with so much depth and beauty. See you all there!!!
It all sounds beyond amazing! Markus and Angelika…Mirabai Ceiba. Such grace. Such beauty! Bowing asgard deep…so gratef
